Cancellation policy
Purchase Options & Cancellation Policy
At Wineslut, operated by Wallow Wine Limited, we want purchasing from us to be straightforward and transparent. This policy explains how cancellations work for wine, merchandise, pre-orders and any other purchase options available through our website.
1. Cancelling an Order
1.1 Before Dispatch
If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us at hello@wineslut.co.uk as soon as possible.
Where your order has not yet been dispatched, we will make reasonable efforts to cancel it and issue a refund.
Once an order has entered our fulfilment or dispatch process, we may not be able to cancel it before delivery.
1.2 After Dispatch
Once an order has been dispatched, it may no longer be possible to cancel it before delivery.
If you no longer wish to receive the order, you should contact us and we will explain the available options, including your statutory cancellation rights where applicable.
Please do not refuse a delivery without contacting us first, as this may delay the processing of your refund.
2. Your Statutory Cancellation Rights
For most online purchases, UK consumer law provides a 14-day cancellation period for goods.
Unless an exemption applies, you may cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without having to provide a reason.
After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you must return the goods to us within 14 days.
Goods must be returned in an appropriate condition. Where reasonably possible, items should be unopened, unused and returned in their original packaging.
2.1 Alcohol
Where wine or other alcoholic products are eligible for cancellation, the statutory cancellation period applies subject to the nature of the product and applicable consumer law.
If you have opened or consumed a bottle, we may be unable to accept its return where this means the product has been used beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
3. Products That Cannot Be Cancelled
Certain products may be exempt from the usual cancellation rights under UK consumer law.
This can include:
-
Products that are personalised or made to your specifications.
-
Sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed, where the relevant legal exemption applies.
-
Other goods where a statutory cancellation exemption applies.
Where a product is subject to a specific cancellation restriction, this will be made clear to you before purchase where required.
4. Pre-Orders
Some Wineslut products may be offered as pre-orders, including wines that have not yet been released or received by us.
When placing a pre-order, the expected release or dispatch date will be clearly stated on the product page where known.
4.1 Cancelling a Pre-Order
You may contact us to request cancellation of a pre-order before it has been dispatched.
If the pre-order has already been dispatched, the normal cancellation and return provisions in this policy will apply.
If we are unable to fulfil a pre-order, we will contact you and arrange an appropriate refund.
5. Merchandise Purchases
Wineslut merchandise can be cancelled and returned in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.
Where merchandise is returned because you have changed your mind, the item should be returned in an appropriate condition and, where reasonably possible, in its original packaging.
If merchandise is faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can investigate the issue and arrange the appropriate remedy.
6. Refunds
Where a cancellation is accepted, we will process your refund using the original payment method, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.
Refunds will normally be processed within 14 days of the relevant cancellation or return requirements being satisfied.
Where you exercise your statutory right to cancel, we will refund the standard delivery charge you originally paid, where required by law.
If you selected a more expensive delivery service than our standard delivery option, we are not required to refund the additional cost.
7. Return Costs
Where you cancel an order because you have changed your mind, you may be responsible for the reasonable cost of returning the goods to us, unless we have agreed otherwise or applicable law requires us to cover the cost.
If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us before returning them. We will provide appropriate instructions and, where applicable, cover reasonable return costs.
8. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.
If your wine or merchandise arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect or materially different from what you ordered, please contact us at hello@wineslut.co.uk as soon as possible.
For damaged deliveries, we recommend taking photographs of the packaging and product before disposing of anything, as this can help us investigate the issue with our courier or supplier.
We will assess the issue and provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.
9. Subscription and Recurring Purchase Options
If Wineslut offers a subscription or other recurring purchase option, the cancellation terms applicable to that service will be displayed during the subscription sign-up process and within the relevant subscription terms.
Cancelling a subscription will prevent future recurring orders from being placed, but will not automatically cancel an order that has already been processed or dispatched.
Where applicable, you may still have statutory cancellation rights in relation to individual purchases.
10. How to Cancel
To request a cancellation, please email:
Please include:
-
Your name
-
Order number
-
The product(s) you wish to cancel
-
The reason for cancellation, if you wish to provide one
You do not have to provide a reason when exercising your statutory right to cancel within the applicable cancellation period.
We will confirm receipt of your cancellation request and advise you of the next steps.
11. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits, excludes or affects any rights you have under UK consumer protection legislation.
Where there is a conflict between this policy and your statutory rights, your statutory rights will take precedence.
