The Allure
Decadent, beautifully tailored, and shimmering with golden artisanal brilliance. While the uninitiated automatically default to predictable Sauternes or mass-market Moscato, the true connoisseur explores the historic hills of Emilia Romagna for Italy’s hidden nectar. Albana di Romagna was the country’s first-ever white wine to be granted the prestigious DOCG status, and in the hands of master artisan Raffaella Bissoni, it becomes absolute poetry. Crafted from a tiny 5 hectare estate, this organic Passito shuns thick, cloying commercial sweetness, offering a beautifully structured, intellectual dessert wine that balances rich, concentrated fruit against a vibrant, energetic spine of freshness.
Why It’s Exceptional

  • The Taste: A gorgeous, intense golden yellow pour flashing deep amber hues in the light. The nose is incredibly expressive and opulent, leaping from the glass with rich honey, orange zest, and apricot skin, beautifully woven with sophisticated undertones of dried figs, dates, ripe apple, and a whisper of vanilla. The palate is wonderfully rich, creamy, and mouth filling, driving a dense core of fleshy stone fruits. Crucially, its natural acidity and a distinct, moderately tannic grape grip prevent it from feeling heavy, leaving a balanced, impeccably clean, and lingering finish.
  • The Pedigree: 100% Albana di Romagna hand selected from pristine, certified organic vineyards planted on the sandy clayey hills of Bertinoro. To achieve this magnificent concentration, the grapes are harvested from late October to December, allowing two-thirds of the drying process to occur naturally on the vine with Botrytis Cinerea(noble rot). The final third is carefully harvested and left to dry in crates. Alcoholic fermentation occurs with wild yeasts at controlled temperatures, partially in stainless steel and partially in oak barrels, followed by a patient maturation before release.
  • The Ritual: A magnificent, meditative showpiece designed to elevate the end of a grand meal. Serve it lightly chilled (around 8–10°C) in small glasses to let the exotic, honeyed aromas completely envelop the senses. While it acts as a stunning standalone luxury, its incredible structural balance makes it an elite match for dry Italian almond pastries, blue veined cheeses like Gorgonzola and Stilton, matured pecorino, or rich foie gras.
